The Ancient Temple of Dionysus


South of Kos’ harbor, in Vasileos Pavlou Street, are the ruins of Dionysus temple, god of wine and vegetation. The temple itself is considered to have been built around the 2nd century and it is made of gray and white marbles. Close by is the Roman House dating from the 3rd century and inside there is an altar for Dionysus that is still preserved in great condition, even though it’s older than the ruins of the 2nd century. In a place full of greenery and beautiful scenery, travel back in time while watching the remnants of Ancient Greece.
